You are using a wrong (to new) OS version. As of now, only ubuntu 18.04 is 
supported. In general all distros that ship python3 as default are "a 
problem".

on the other hand the development is not dead. The main-page got an overhaul 
and now there is a "tutorial" to deploy kolab via docker-container: https://
kb.kolab.org/2023/03/installing-a-docker-based-kolab-deployment/

if nothing helps, this will be my way at the end fo the year ^^
