It seems to be indeed a working solution. 

I've added kolabDelegate to the kolabGroupOfUniqueNames schema.
Then modfied the ldap group1 object to have a kolabDelegate to user1.
Works. At least as far as I can see.

Maybe some developer should think about it... I'll submit some bug report...
