I don't know if what I encountered was this bug, but I believe that 
there are multiple bugs.

1) ptloader was sending an LDAP query that has an incorrect base DN and 
therefore received no result.
2) ptloader crashed because it received no result.

I found that setting the "Custom Root DN" to the appropriate base dn in 
kolab_webadmin sets the inetdomainbasedn attribute in LDAP and that the 
LDAP queries are then correct.
