Bug 1627 showing it's ugly face again

after upgrading to pykolab-0.5.14 I experience the 1627 bug again.
Yes, the patch has been applied.

The bug shows only as being fixed in version pykolab-0.6.10
But I now see pykolab 0.5.17 in the repos. Has the bug been fixed in this 0.5.17 version.
Is it advantageous to upgrade to 0.5.17 which is newer than 0.6.10
