I have an encryption button in converse and the "what's this" help refers to https://otr.cypherpunks.ca/help/3.2.0/levels.php which gets also referred by pidgin-otr and ChatSecure. I tried it but it did't work here, but maybe that's the fault of my hand-made integration of converse, which has some other bugs, too.
