disabling non-mail folders via IMAP - what does it break?

Thunderbird has no functionality that relies on them. In fact,
Thunderbird can't even use them. Selecting a contact in the Contacts
folder provides some silly message about how your mail client doesn't
understand them.

Does Roundcube rely on these folders being present via IMAP?

I know that Thunderbird supports auto configuration, but I'm not sure
it supports it down to the folder subscription level.

That sounds like a really painful solution to something that Kolab
should probably handle automatically.

Does the actual Kontact mail client rely on these folders being
available via IMAP?
