SMTP Error 454 on freshly installed kolab 3.0 (development packages)

Hello,

I’ve got a fresh kolab 3.0 install (using the development
packages). However, I can't send emails as I get 

    Erreur SMTP (454) : Échec de l'authentification.

    (SMTP Error (454): Failure to authenticate.)

What's it trying to authenticate against? Might that be a DNS
problem?
