Michael I do not have an answer for your specific question but I can say that CentOS 6.4 does work fine for me. However I installed it without any visualization on a fresh clean install of CentOS 6.4 minimal. I took reasonably detailed notes as well that can be found at the below link.

However it might be worth giving 6.3 a try and see if it helps. I think the problem is more likely to be related to the virtuozzo visualization or some odd environment difference between your CentOS 6.4 and the minimal install version I used.
