Hi *!
I'm currently cautiously investigating the new Kolab 3 stuff and just saw the
Beta announcement coming in on the website. There are, however, a few things
that confuse me:
- The announcement talks about packages for Debian *Squeeze*, but the
announcement it refers to
(https://kolab.org/blog/vanmeeuwen/2012/10/23/wheres-kolab-3.0-beta-what-are-we-waiting)
only refers to Debian *Wheezy*
- Also, the "Community Installation Guide" does not mention Squeeze, only
Wheezy
So, right now it is unclear to me whether Debian Squeeze actually *is*
supported - or is only the upcoming Wheezy supported?
As I thought that Squeeze was not supported, I started my investigation
yesterday using a fresh install of Debian Wheezy (amd64), then followed the
Community Installation Guide to get Kolab 3 installed. With the exception of
a small hickup (Cyrus needed to be restarted as it suddenly refused
cyrus-admin as an invalid user after having run setup-kolab), everything
seemed to have gone well. However, when I look at the Beta announcement, it
talks about "editing of object types" and in the screen shots, I can see
a "Settings" tab. This section does not exist on my set-up when I log in as
Directory Manager. I've checked that I have all repositories (release
development updates updates-testing) enabled and as far as I can see,
everything is at the newest version. Did I misunderstand the announcement and
this feature is "yet to come" or am I missing something else?
Cheerio,
Thomas
