Why can I use zpush as Echange Server for Windows Mobile but notfor MS Outlook

I dont think s thaat Outlook understand ActiveSync Protocol natively.
ActiveSync protocol (WBXML)is not implemented on outlook (2007) and i think in 2010 too.

I don't understand, why it works with zpush, if I enter the Kolab server
at my WM6.5 phone, but not with MS Exchange?
