More build problems

True - I installed automake-1.9 for that on 10.04 (1.9 was what the 8.04 
packages used - never tried 1.10 and the default 1.11 fails). gcc-4.4 worked 
fine once indexlib was removed - up until the point I mentioned in my 
previous mail. Maybe I need to try with gcc-4.3 instead just to see whether 
that makes any difference.
