Q about maildomain/hostdomain/hostname and settings

You say it. I have found this to be quite tricky so far.

Thanks for clarifying. I was confused because of presence of another
mail sever in our domain which is used for regular email communication.
Now, I will add that mail server as relay station to kolab and use
kolab's mail capabilities only for notifying calender events etc.

Yes. This is what we have done now. DNS has an alias kolab for pc_101 in
our zone.

Thank you again for your helpful post. Actually, I am a student doing
that groupware installation at a university (HIWI job). Thus I can not
have a big influence on decision making in this regard. I will still
mention this as an option to my mention.
