fetchmail && ldap idea

Richard Bos and probably others are using fetchmail to download emails
of external servers and inject it in kolab.
This is a great way to migrate to the new system without removing the
old infrastructure and getting a feature like that integrated within
kolab could really benefit exchange-to-kolab migrations.

Should we think about having in ldap users profile also "external email
accounts" and then have a crontab jobs that crawl ldap directory,
retrieve external account, download email and inject it into specific
user inbox?

Someone proposed a fetchmail ldap schema to manage accounts that are in
other servers.

Richard, what you think about that?
Adding field in kolab it's quite easy and if you are doing the job for
your company could be a good idea to propose an integration of such
feature within kolab cvs.
