Kolab and horde installation problem

Hi,

I know horde is in its experimental stage but wanted to try it out. 
I followed the explanation and steps on the wiki about installing Horde
(http://wiki.kolab.org/index.php/Kolab2_Installation_-_Horde with mysql).

I got it installed, however not configured properly. ( I had to use a newer
version of mysql as the requested one was not available anymore, ie I'm
using mysql-4.1.14-2.5.0  but don't think it matters).

Upon doing al spcial patches found, I can still login with the configured
administration user, however I get several warnings on screen like : 

Warning  Some functionality is not currently available, the system
administrator has been notified.
Error  Horde/Kolab: Unable to synchronise address book "": NO, Invalid
mailbox name
...

Had the imap server on the FQDN of the server but didn't help, put it back
to localhost. I get several error messages in the horde.log error file : 

Dec 02 11:38:50 HORDE [emergency] [horde] Could not create object for
"DataTree_sql", using fallback "DataTree_null": DB Error: extension not
found [on line 1550 of "/kolab/lib/php/Horde.php"]

Any idea what I did wrong? Note however that after rebooting my machine,
Mysql wouldn't start anymore. It complained about don't having a mysql.host
table : 

051202 09:02:43  mysqld started
051202  9:02:43 [Warning] Can't create test file
/kolab/var/kitchent.lower-test
051202  9:02:43 [ERROR] Fatal error: Can't open privilege tables: Table
'mysql.host' doesn't exist
051202 09:02:43  mysqld ended

By hacking into the code we found out that mysql was searching in the wrong
spot for these files (/kolab/var/mysql which should be
/kolab/var/mysql/mysql). We modified the code to search in the correct spot
which solved the problem. Don't think this has anything todo with it as the
mentioned problem occurred before the reboot while mysql was still running
