Kolab doesn't "force" you to do anything - you just have to configure 
it to meet your needs / expectations.

I think you'll want to read up on the documentation for 
firstname.lastname at domain.name:

For the shared info at domain.name address, the following should work:

  # kolab cm shared/info at domain.name
  # kolab sam shared/info at domain.name anyone p
  # vi /etc/postfix/virtual

info at domain.name  shared+shared/info at domain.name

  # postmap /etc/postfix/virtual
