[Kolab-devel] [issue3461] Add to the install instruction that gcc (< 4.3) is required

New submission from Richard Bos <ml at radoeka.nl>:

It would be useful to add to the install instructions
http://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/linux/kolab/server/development-2.2/current/sources/1st.README
that gcc is a pre-request to be able to install the openpkg
version of kolab. Without gcc install-kolab fails.

When gcc is installed, install-kolab will fail on Debian
lenny and openSUSE 11.1. See:
http://www.kolab.org/pipermail/kolab-users/2008-July/008430.html
# sh install-kolab.sh 2>&1 | tee /root/kolab-install.log

The solution is to downgrade gcc. For openSUSE gcc-4.1
is available. This happened for me recently, I don't know
if Debian Lenny still has this problem, but I assume it has.
Hence it would be good to include that gcc < 4.3 must be
used.

It would be good that have this updated, for the upcoming
2.2.1 release.
