I maintain that anyone can install Kolab Server/OpenPKG very quickly 
on Debian Systems. 
(The .deb based approaches, aka Kolab Server/Debian have all been harder to 
install and this is likely to stay this way for a longer time, though this is 
not a drawback.)

Not really.
The plan is to have at least a beta this year.
