[Kolab-devel] Handling of default groupware folders within Kolab clients

Hi,
I would like to know how Kolab clients should handle the creation of
default groupware folders in case global shares are present.
The specific situation:
If a user logs into the Kolab server for a first time, he has no
folders for notes, contacts, events and tasks. Usually the client has
to create these on a first login. At least this is the behaviour I
know from the Kontact client and I guess the Outlook plugins do the
same kind of thing. Horde as a web client does the same thing and has
no problems creating these four default shares.
But what should happen if there already exists a global groupware
folder on the server that the user has access to? Let's assume there
is a global "Notes"-Folder on the server then the Horde client
currently detects this folder and accepts this as the users default
groupware. The usual "Notes" folder will not be created.
Is this an acceptable behaviour? Or are there specific reasons for
*always* creating the default folders?
Thanks!
Gunnar
