New submission from Bernhard Reiter <bernhard at intevation.de>:

In an integrated Kolab Server (2.0.4),
a customer uses a hash where the contents
of the password is in latin-1 encoding.
Thus password with umlauts do not work.

First step to verify this would be a simple patch to the webadmin
interface which encodes the password to latin-1 instead of utf-8
before checking it. This way we can prove the theory.
This step is kkc.

For the mid term it might be interesting to make the encoding
used configurable to be better integratable with other applications
that have more limits, but this is subject to debate.
