One of our clients is running a system where a large number of calendar folder 
are shared with each other and synchronization is done every 1 to 5 minutes. 
There were complaints that the synchronization would not detect new 
appointments or reflect changes or deletions until after a many 
synchronization attempts.

They are running a dual Xeon server with with 2Gig ram, so hardware was not 
the issue. 

Stephan increased the imapd preforking from 0 to 10 and also the saslauthd 
threads from 2 to 10. This resolved the issue. Is it possible to add these 
setting to the default Kolab configuration templates?

Bernhard does this not sound like the problem you had with the one setup?
