When I restarted kolabd 5 days ago, it took 3% of RAM (measured with 
top). Today it consumes already 13%, so memory usage is indeed 
increasing over time. Searching for the culprit, I can offer two 
possibilities:

We downgraded from kernel 2.6.8 to 2.4.26 (was necessary because the 
newer kernel showed some hardware incompatibilites)

We have about 2700 entries in our ldap now; before the behavior showed 
up, we had only about 60.
