OK - so I had a weird idea yesterday, and I'd like to propose it and see if
it's even possible (before I spend too much time trying to see if I can do
it...)
Background (bear with me - it *is* relevent to kolab...):
Novell just released the code for their ximian connector. This allowed
evolution to connect to an exchange server. Now that there is access to that
code, it would probably be easy to find out how an exchange server...
Which leads to my idea:
Would it be possible to create a module that "acts" as if it were an exchange
server? I would listen on all the same ports, give the same responses,
etc...and then translate the calls to the "pseudo-exchange" to standard kolab
(imap, webdav, etc) commands? Then you wouldn't have to have a plugin to get
outlook to work with kolab - you would just have to point it to the kolab
server as if it were an exchange server...
I know nothing about exchange....so I don't even know if this is
possible...but it sounds like it would be a pretty useful addon.
