These are the symptoms of a product that is driven mainly by a company
with lack of community management.

The Kolab development ecosystem several years ago was a vibrant effort
driven by a konsortium of companies and voluntary developers. The
overall concept of Kolab (already at level v2) is good and promising.
However, Kolab currently is no community project anymore it seems.
Things have become really silent around it, unfortunately.
Personally, I still run a Kolab v2 continuously forward ported to
recent Debian distro versions. To differentiate between latest Kolab
and my version, I have renamed it to "Skolab" [1] (as I tend to use it
for school mail systems). Currently, I have a developer working on the
fork with the goal of bump all components to 3rd party libraries and
such as found in Debian 11. However, Skolab is a Kolab v2 fork, not
using any achievement added to Kolab since 2012 (or so).
