Enforce password change on first login

I'm writing over the old mail thread on

At the end of that thread the recommendation is to use Roundcube's password
plugin but I'm looking that this plugin is only "suggesting" to change the
password by redirecting the user to the "Change password" page on first
login, but it isn't actually forcing the user to change its password.

Do you know of any other alternative to actually force the password to be
changed on first login?.
