Mailboxes not created

Hi again!
Well, still a few issues to solve here...
Now that I try to move my mailboxes from the old server to the new
(Kolab 3.4 -> Winterfell) I stumbled across a problem with mailbox
creation - I created five user through kolab-webadmin, all five have
been reported as successfully created., but the mailboxes don't get
created, 'kolab lm' won't show any mailboxes for them.
Specialty about these users: one has an 'é`in his given name, one will
have a '-' in her username (and surname)
I tried to retrieve user info about them via 'kolab user-info', but
regardless of what I enter as argument (mail address, username) I always
get an error on the command line:
> root at hostname:/home/user# kolab user-info user at example.com
> Traceback (most recent call last):
> File "/usr/sbin/kolab", line 39, in <module>
> kolab = Cli()
> File "/usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/pykolab/cli/__init__.py", line 73, in __init__
> commands.execute('_'.join(to_execute))

> result = wap_client.authenticate(username=conf.get("ldap", "bind_dn"), password=conf.get("ldap", "bind_pw"))

> File "/usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/pykolab/wap_client/__init__.py", line 390, in request
> response_data = request_raw(method, api_uri, get, post, headers)
> File "/usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/pykolab/wap_client/__init__.py", line 443, in request_raw
> return response_data
> UnboundLocalError: local variable 'response_data' referenced before assignment
User at example.com is a replacement, of course. The address used is the
primary email of a user with an existing mailbox.
Using a nonexistent user, no matter if I use their mail adress as
reported in kolab-webadmin or their username, gives the same error.
Debian Jessie, Kolab Winterfell, PHP 5.6, Nginx 1.10.2, MySQL 5.5.54,
latest kolab packages for Debian Jessie as available from OBS repo
Any hints?
Friedemann
