Kolab Migration Methods

Hi,

I just wanted to find out if there is a suggested method of migrating 
between say a Kolab 3.1 server and a new, different Kolab 3.4 server?

The current way I do it:

Export Dirsrv contents, and import on the new server:
https://docs.kolab.org/administrator-guide/backup-and-restore.html

The sync IMAP state and data using rsync of folders:

/var/lib/imap
/var/spool/imap

Then secure server.

This leads to problems which I am still trying to figure out.

Is it better to just have a complete fresh install on the new server, 
re-create the accounts and sync using imapsync?
