Roundcube increasing max. attachment size?

Dear list,

I have been reading through the past mails on this topic... 

I want to increase the attachment size limit in roundcoube (it's currently 2Mb 
and I want it to be 5Mb)

I changed php.ini to
post_max_size=8M
upload_max_filesize=5M

yet it has no effect on roundcube?!

If there's a .htaccess file overwriting php.ini... where to look for the 
.htaccess file?
/etc/roundcubemail 
has no .htaccess file
