Multi-domain Setup

Is there a good working set of instructions to get a multiple domain 
installation working properly? In Kolab Admin, I added another domain, 
added users, can't log in via IMAP or web mail. Tried following 
google-inspired suggestions to no avail. Upgraded to Devel version (from 
3.4), now the IMAP login is accepted, but the backend error message says 
the user doesn't exist.
I'd appreciate any pointers.
BTW, I'm running Kolab on Debian.
