if you have only one IP and want to serve different domains you have to use SNI
(or in apache terms "namebased virtual hosts"). And there's no reason not to
use SNI.
Every major browser supports SNI since a couple of years. AFAIR the only
browser not supporting this feature is IE6 on WinXP and i don't see any reason
to support this one anymore in 2015.
