Shared calendars and reminders?

Hi all,
I've also asked the following on kdepim-users, but I'm not quite sure whether
this is KDE/Kontact or Kolab-related, hence the re-post here...
While experimenting with Kontact 4.11.3 (Kubuntu 13.10, Kolab 2.x server) we
came across a question with regard to "shared" calendars and reminders in the
following scenario:
User A gives (IMAP-)read access to his calendar to user B. User B subscribes
to A's calendar, but disables it in his own Calendar view as most of the time,
he does not need to see the appointments of user A. Despite disabling A's
calendar, the reminders associated with events from that calendar still seem
to pop up, which is annoying. Is this by design? I seem to remember that this
was not the case with the older enterprise35 Kontact - disabling a calendar
would also disable the reminders (but then again, reminders were always iffy
in that version anyway, so I could be mistaken).
If this is by design, is there a better way to give full read access of a
Kolab calendar to another user while being able to enable/disable its view
easily?
Regards,
Thomas
