Editor popup windows too small - how to change?

Hi all, 

I don't know why, but all the editor popups (e.g. task editor, event
editor, ...) are lacking a little width, thus the top row with the tabs
wrap around and conceal the title row - very uncomfortable when one
tries to edit an appointment and can't even read the headline. 

I'm rather sure this can be changed somewhere, but I don't even nkow
where to look. Maybe someone can point me in the right direction?
