Yes - I have in fact seen this problem before. kolab-freebusyd 3.0.4 
attempts to STARTTLS, which on a server configured to use port 993 (the 
default), does not work.

Would you be so kind to report back to me about whether setting the 
imap uri in /etc/kolab/kolab.conf back to port 143 resolves your 
immediate problem?
