Changing primary mail address

I want to modify Kolab so that I can specify in the kolab-webadmin 
interface the primary email address.  I have followed the instructions 
in the Administrator Guide, section 3.1.3. Disabling the Recipient 
Policy, and the system no longer auto-fills the primary email address 
field.  However, the field is still a gray color,and I cannot add my 
data to it.

What did I miss?
