No. Kolab is very much supported by Kontact.
I am a bit unsure what you mean with KDE Groupware Wizard. If you have updated
to KMail2 there is now under Tools -> Account Wizard in the Kmail menu an
accountwizard that also supports kolab and sets it up correctly.
(You can calso start this from command line by running "accountwizard")
If you already meant that wizard check
in /usr/share/apps/akonadi/accountwizard/ if there is a kolab folder in
there. Since the account types are just plugins it might be possible that
kubuntu packaged them in a way that you need to install some extra package
for the Kolab account wizard.
