What packages are you referring to? The Kolab server 2.2.4 release or the 
experimental z-push packages I rolled?

For the server:
Yes, stop it. install-kolab.sh will compile the packages and install them and 
at this point the server should not be running. For more info, please look 
into
http://files.kolab.org/server/release/kolab-server-2.2.4/sources/1st.README

For kolab-z-push:
No, just download the packages to a folder and install them with 

$ /kolab/bin/openpkg rpm -Uvh *.rpm

There is no need to recompile anything because it is noarch. Please leave your 
server running, if it is configured and online, everything gets installed 
automatically. For more info see

I suggest to back up the file and restore it after the upgrade. The webclient 
hasn't changed much, only some bugs were fixed, so I don't expect and 
problems.
