Amavisd killed - where do emails end up and how to get them back?

Hi,

A stupid misconfiguration of my openpkg 2.2.3 install last night let to a 
non functional amavisd (killed itself). Where would emails that accordingly 
could not be deliver end up? Is there any way to reinject them into kolab's 
delivery process?
