Using Kolab with external OepnLDAP Server

Hi,

I am looking for an solution on how to use the current Kolab version 
with an external LDAP Server.

Half a year ago, I installed Kolab and used the following howto to 
connect to another LDAP Server: http://wpkg.org/kolab . Finally I could 
login as the admin user.
When I tried to login with a normal user in its mail box ...the 
connection always refused. By the way I created the user with LAM.

Now, I am looking for ...let's say an more official way to do that. I 
don't need a complete howto, just some hints ;)
