People have reported that the live-cd can be run with VirtualBox and vmware.  
AFAIK these are virtual machines, you only need to have sufficient memory to 
make this work.  If this is not sufficient, the live-cd comes with all the 
files to (re-)create the live-cd.  If you have a look at it, it's only 
commands!
