Kolab2.2 intergrated with Samba

Will this maybe work...
I don't need to import samba Openldap database. Can i install Ubuntu,
Install Samba(with apt-get install samba), compile Kolab2.2, extract LAM to
kolab apache dir, and then add kolab module. Then use LAM web interface to
create users? Will this allow me to create a samba and kolab user in one go?
All the HOWTO's have broken links, some sites don't work or maybe its about
using samba ldap database instead of kolab. I do not want to change Kolabs
configs, i would much rather let samba use kolab dap. By me installing LAM,
will it combine the two databases?

First, with samba, like with M$, a computer don't need to have joined
the domain to access
resource from other member of the domain !
Then you can configure Samba as a PDC, but never join the domain :-),
this will works too
Second, the biggest problem is not the PDC part but all the other
stuff, the one you describe above !
Then if you are not a samba and kolab guru, try to reproduce something
that has already done before, by people that know !
