Cannot switch language?

Hi all,

I just installed Kolab 2.2 from source following the instructions on an  
Ubuntu 8.04 64-bit Xeon box.  It is possible to launch the admin  
interface, but unfortunately it doesn't switch the gui language.  E.g.  
if I select "French", the URI switches to  
<https://10.16.0.1/admin/?lang=fr_FR>, the page reloads, but is still  
in English.  Same happens for German, Dutch, etc.  Any idea what I  
missed?
