remove folder of a certain user

I have some old or screwed up folders on my server that cannot be used:
I have a USER/Contacts
When a do a ctl_mboxlist -d i should get
thomas.Contacts      default thomas at btspuhler.com
but I get        
thomas.Contacts      default thomas

How do I remove this entry without doing a 
ctl_mboxlist -dx >dump.txt 
 remiving the line and then
ctl_mboxlist -u <dump.txt
