The problem has been resolved. I think I deleted the
etc/kolab/templates/main.cf.template.rpmnew and kept the old one when 
upgrading from 2006 to 2007.

Commenting smtpd_sasl_path = /etc/postfix/sasl:/usr/lib/sasl2
solved the problem
Thanks to the Mandriva postfix maintainer for his advice.
