Hi
Thanks all for your hints.
I don't want to directly integrate Kolab in my Suse. I would again depend on that the Suse-packages are kept up to date. I currently use Scalix, which is a fine program. It's just awful to use.
I think the openpkg solution is just fine. :)
I had a closer look in it. The binutils are up to date. (the 64-bit and the 32-bit). I searched too the openpkg-mailing lists and found several hints on problems with 64-bit system. We have running a 64-bit system on an AMD64 mixed with 32bit libraries. As I read that was earlier a problem.
It there a work around.
Sorry, I'm not very well with linux systems. I'm a good user, but I don't have programming experience and I almost never compiled a program my self.
Thanks again for your help.

Your gcc build fails with:
build/genmodes.o build/errors.o ../build-x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu/libiberty/libiberty.a
/lib64/libc.so.6: file not recognized: File format not recognized
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
I googled a bit ... does this blog entry help?
http://blog.stefan-macke.de/2007/07/18/c-compiler-cannot-create-executables-und-lib64libcso6-file-not-recognized/
You should also check the mailing list archive
(http://www.kolab.org/pipermail/kolab-users/) for some recent posts on
Kolab on 64bit machines. The underlying OpenPKG system is not yet
completely ready for this so it needs some tweaks.
Cheers,
Gunnar
