Sudden problems with IMAP

Strange, your strategy could be to find out more about 
this abnormal termination.

Hard to tell without debugging.
You could help us by giving the precise version of the Kolab Server that you
are using.

Can you find out abnormal terminations in the log.
Is there an abnormal terminatin per each connection request from your phone?
Maybe setting CYRUS_VERBOSE helps to get more information, 
see openpkg man cyrmaster.
