thanks for your report. Have you find some particolar problem for installing 
kolab on debian? 

Now i'm reading this page 
http://svn.debian.org/wsvn/pkg-kolab/kolabd/trunk/debian/README.Debian?op=file&rev=0&sc=0 
for installation. 

Or you have used /usr/share/kolabd/kolab_bootstrap ?
