The native .deb package currently still rely on the older Kolab-2.0
version which lacks all the autoconf-features from Richard and
Markus. So native integration with that code is probably a lot more
difficult and error prone.

Whether installation on Gentoo is esier/as easy/harder than with the
OpenPKG version is difficult to judge from my point of view. Running
the system on Gentoo seems trivial to me since I know Kolab quite well
and I am a Gentoo fanatic :) ... But the Kolab/Gentoo overlay currently
has about thirty users (judged from the unique package downloads) and
there have been only a minimal number of bug reports so far (usually
only when I was not careful enough while updating).

Cheers

Gunnar
