Is it possible to do some kind of user based server side header rewriting (sieve?)

Hi,

I use "sieve" to sort mails from mailing lists into several sub-folders.
Some lists used to preset the ML name ahead the subject which results to long 
subject lines like:
[Digikam-users] 16 bit plugins

I want to remove the text between the brackets but not on the client side as I 
use different clients at the same time.

Any ideas?
