Martin,
try these:
/usr/sbin/selinuxenabled
selinuxenabled - tool to be used within shell scripts to
determine if selinux is enabled
/usr/sbin/getenforce
getenforce - get the current mode of SELinux
getenforce reports whether SELinux is enforcing, permissive, or disabled.
