I submitted something similiar to CVS HEAD now. Thanks for the suggestion!
Two hints for submitting patches:
- use the context diff in the right order old_file new_file
- use the contect diff from the folder of the CVS module
- create an issue in the tracker with topic "server" and attached the patch
- best is: Add a changelog description
