Why?

Why not simply use a business folder which is shared using ACLs and a private 
folder being protected by ACLs.

The former is for business appointments and the later is for private 
appointments. 

The Kolab 2 freebusy architectures allows for a common fb list.

What is your final goal? I doubt that you really want duplicates.
